How does PRP promote hair growth?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) hair treatments are a medical procedure used to stimulate hair growth and combat hair loss. This treatment involves drawing a small amount of the patient's blood, which is then processed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. The PRP injections, rich in growth factors and proteins that promote healing. It is then injected into the scalp at areas experiencing hair thinning or loss.

These growth factors are believed to enhance hair follicle function. They can also prolong the growth phase of the hair cycle. Which in turn can stimulate the production of new hair.

PRP hair treatments are minimally invasive and utilise the patient's own blood. They have shown promise in improving hair density and health with relatively few side effects.

The PRP therapy process

Carl, our lead clinician, recommended a treatment plan combining hair fillers and microneedling. This would restimulate the hair growth in the affected area. Here’s what Carl’s  plan looked like:

1. Regular Sessions: Sophie would visit the clinic every 3-4 weeks for platelet rich plasma hair treatments. Supported with microneedling sessions in-between. This would promote growth factors of hair follicles.
2. Cost-Effective Treatment: Each session was priced at £250, with the plan to continue until full hair regrowth was achieved.
